PROJECT ENGINEER

Project Engineer:

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with our Professional Staff to assist with land development designs, stormwater inspections, surveys, and municipal reviews. Project Engineer’s at GHI play a key role in collaborating with Clients, coordinating with local municipalities and regulatory agencies, and ensuring the timely delivery of plans and permits.

Key Responsibilities:

Being a civil engineer in the Land Development Profession requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a good understanding of surveying and engineering principles as well as regulatory requirements. As a Project Engineer at GHI, your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing stormwater management designs and reports.
• Creating detailed site layouts showing the locations of buildings, roads, infrastructure, and other site features.
• Conduct ordinance research to prepare site layouts that comply with zoning regulations.
• Develop stormwater management plans and design control measures including detention basins, drainage channels, and storm sewer systems using hydraulic and hydrologic modeling tools to analyze stormwater runoff.
• Interpreting topographic survey data to develop grading plans for site development.
• Calculate earthwork volumes and other material quantity takeoffs.
• Prepare soil erosion and sediment control plans to prevent pollution during construction activities.
• Performing site inspections to monitor stormwater management structure effectiveness and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania is preferred or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in land development, civil engineering, or related projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software.
